There were many different game modes in CS:GO, including Flying Scoutsman and Demolition. In CS2 there are only a limited number of game modes so far, including Premier, Competition, Wingman, Casual and Deathmatch mode.
Since the A Call To Arms Update CS2 also features the popular Arms Race mode. All of these game modes fulfil a specific purpose, while some are just for fun, others allow you to improve your CS2 skills.
Tip: Other game modes are often also available during an operation.
1st Premier
Premier mode was released with CS2 and is the new main competitive mode. It works in a similar way to the old competitive mode in CS:GO, with two small differences. It is played normally 5 vs. 5, but there is a pick and ban phase before the start of the game for the card vote. Another new feature is the scoring system, which allows players to compare their scores with each other.

2. competition (competitive)
Competitive mode was the main mode in CS:GO, where all players competed according to their competitive rank. This mode has changed slightly in CS2. By default, it is played 5 vs. 5, whether it is a defuse map or a hostage map. The only small difference is that there is a separate rank for each individual map, which shows how good or bad you are on the respective map.

3. wingman
Wingman mode is a popular 2 vs. 2 mode. Smaller cards and less time per round make the wingman mode attractive for in-between games. A round lasts a maximum of 15 minutes, so if you have some time to spare, give it a try. Grab a friend and prove your skills in Wingman mode.

4. casual game (casual)
Casual mode is perfect for new players. In a 10 vs 10 you can learn the maps, try out new weapons or improve your understanding of the game. There is no team blocking or team damage and you start each round with a Kevlar waistcoat, with enough money.

5. deathmatch
In Deathmatch mode, the aim is to eliminate as many players as possible in 10 minutes. You receive points for each elimination and some weapons give you extra points for a certain time. We recommend this mode as a warm-up for the competition or Premier mode, but also to learn the spray control.

6. arms race
Arms Race is a type of team deathmatch where all players are divided into two teams. Each player must collect eliminations as quickly as possible in order to play their way through a set chain of weapons. Each player starts with the same weapon and receives the next weapon in the chain for every two eliminations. The last weapon is the knife and the first player to reach the knife and successfully make an elimination wins the round.
