Arms race: The popular CS:GO mode has been available since the "A Call To Arms" Update can now also be played in CS2. Arms Race has been launched in CS2 with two familiar but visually revised maps.
For all those who do not know exactly how the mode works, or would like to find out more details about the arms race, we provide the most important information here.
How the Arms Race works
Target: The aim of the arms race is to be the first player to make a kill with the final weapon, the knife.
Each player must collect kills as quickly as possible in order to play their way through a fixed chain of weapons. Each player starts with the same weapon and receives the next weapon in the chain for every two kills. The last weapon is the knife and the first player to reach the knife and successfully make a kill wins the round.
Arms race is a kind of team deathmatch. The players are divided into two teams and if a player dies, he is respawned relatively quickly.
Special feature:
In addition to the primary weapon, each player always has a knife (but not the golden knife, which is required for victory). If you make a kill with the knife, you immediately get the next weapon in the chain and the killed player is set back one weapon (one level).

The current Arms Race cards
There are currently two maps for the arms race in CS2. Both maps are known from CS:GO and have been visually reworked for CS2. The names of the two maps are Baggage and Shoots.

Baggage
Baggage depicts a scene at an airport. Packed with baggage carousels, it looks very similar to the Nuke card.
The map also has a special functional feature. At the bottom of the map, switches can be activated to make the luggage belts move and even shift the players on them. The whole thing could be a good preview of what will be possible with the Source 2 Engine in the future.

Shoots
Shoots was known as Vietnam in CS:GO, in CS2 it was renamed and the setting was moved to Mexico. This map was also reworked for CS2 and mainly uses the assets from Ancient.
