Every Counter Strike player knows or has heard of the developer console. It is a must for every CS2 player. You can use it to create your own key combinations, change the field of view, change the weapon hand and much more. But first you simply have to activate the console in the settings.
How do I activate the console in CS2?
Follow these 4 steps in the settings to activate and open your console.
- Step 1: Open the Settings and go to the tab "Game"
- Step 2Search "Activate developer console" and select "Yes"
- Step 3: Go to the tab "Mouse/keyboard" and in the category "UI"
- Step 4: Search for "Open console" and specify any key
Now you can open the console during the game or in the start menu by pressing any key. In the console you need commands, for this you can use our useful console commands look it up.
Console not visible in CS2
There is often the problem that the console has been opened but has been moved out of the screen and can no longer be used. To fix this error, go to the following file under this path.
- Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YourSteamid32\730\local\cfg\cs2_machine_convars.vcfg
- Search in this file for "panorama_console_position_and_size" and carry enter these values there: 20.00|20.00|200.00|200.00
Don't forget to save the file afterwards and restart CS2.
